Please spread the word. This is a digital contesting experiment designed to
work out any "kinks" in PSK63. Please join in, this weekend. Take a break
from WPX CW ! Note the contest is two hours per day (May 25 and 26 UTC.)

Announcing a PSK63 Experimental Sprint

Purpose : To test PSK63's contesting abilities and incorporate findings for
the September PSK63 Contest.

Mode: BPSK63
            QPSK63

Bands: 20M 14072.5 -14080 (USB readout)

Date May 25 , 2003 0200- 0400 UTC and MAY 26 0200-0400 UTC

Exchange = RST and power class (see below)

Power Class. QRP = QRP
Above five but less than 20 watts = LOW
Above 20 but less than 50 = MED
Above 50 but less that 100 = HIGH
                      Above 100 watts = TON+

Example : CQ CQ CQ PSK63 Sprint de K3UK K3UK K3UK pse K
                      K3UK de KH6TY
                      KH6TY de K3UK 599 LOW BK
                      TU 599 QRP BK
                      TU QRZ PSK63 Sprint de K3UK K3UK K3UK CQ

Scoring : 5 points each BPSK QSO, 10 points each QPSK contact.

Multiply total points by 10 if YOU operated with an output of
5 watts or less
Multiply total points by 5 if YOU operated more than 5 but
less than 20 watts output
Multiply total points by 3 if YOU operated more than 20 but
less than 50 watts output
Multiply total points by 1.5 if YOU operated more than 50 but
less than 100 watts output
Operation of 100 watts is permitted but no multipliers are
given if YOU operated over 100 watts.

Stations can be worked once per mode ,BASK AND QPSK, per day (thus a
maximum of 4 QSOs with one station is possible)

QSY rules normally associated with "sprints" do NOT apply.

Please include a comments section with your log detailing how PSK63 worked
from a contesting perspective,

Please note a recommendation that PSK63 requires staying within the
linearity of your equipment and power output 66 % less than usually used
for RTTY is recommended. Skip Teller KH6TY ,the author of the PSK63
software, states "...cautions are published to keep it linear and that you
can run 1/3 the usual power, because running 250 watts on PSK63 is
equivalent to running 1000 watts on RTTY. The biggest problem might be the
few still using Class-C amplifiers "
