There are some drawbacks to Class C:
1. If you don't make it GG you will have to neutralize it, a tricky bit
of design work.
2. Your transceiver will have way too much drive unless it is QRP only.
You will need a *very* fast grid protection circuit.
3. Class C also requires a separate regulated bias supply, whether GG or
not.
Three good reasons why GG linear has become the standard for Amateur
use, but it would still be a fun project. If you decide to go ahead with
it please let us know how it turned out.
