My 2nd wife was like that for a while. But, after too many delayed Hallmark Holidays and my working 35 contests in a year it was bye bye time.

Now I'm in a situation where due to age, health problems, and an uncertain future time on the radio does not seem as important as spending time with someone I truly care about. Unless you've been there you will never understand it. So look for me to operate very minimally in RTTY WPX.

My wife's and my position on "Hallmark Holidays" has always been to enjoy them but to not let them ruin or control our lives - moving the day is not a big deal - we even do this with birthdays. I always send her flowers one or two days early - she gets to enjoy them thru the holiday and the florist does a better job before the rush.

My suggestion is to be pro-active about it - make dinner reservations on thursday "to avoid the crowds" on sunday - give her her gift then and spring for an extra nice bottle of wine - and on sunday after the contest shut down the station immediately and plan on having some bread and cheese etc. with her for supper.

With a tiny bit of imagination (*), this can be handled - 73 and GL! - jeff wk6i

(*) yeah, OK - and luck too!
