And don't forget that you can often save some shelf or desk space by
mounting the LCD display on an articulated arm. The better LCD panels
have VESA standard mounting holes.
By the way: just a word of recommendation... if you are running a
screen saver on an LCD display, do yourself a favor and don't. Screen
savers are used to reduce phosphor burn-ins of CRT displays by
constantly moving the parts of the phosphor that is struck by the
electron beam. An LCD display works by obstructing light from a
fluorescent backlight. That backlight is on at full blast even when
99% of the screen area is dark (as with a screen saver). The backlight
is also the component that ages the fastest in an LCD display (check
the other fluorescent lamps in your QTH). Instead, it it is best to
turn the display off when it is idle (some operating systems have an
"energy saver" setting to do that). That way it will remain at its
brightest for a longer time.
