[RTTY] Sputnik days

I was born in 1937. When Sputnik hit space I was in the Army at Ft. Devins,
MA. they woke us up early and sent us outside to see Sputnik make a pass.
They then got us together and tried to scare us to death with talk of
missiles etc. I was too sleepy to be overly impressed. Hi
I do recall an instant demand across the country for more science courses in
schools etc.
