I'm not sure who wrote this, but 6.2x was the last "real" DOS.  7.0
and later is an emulated DOS which runs under Windows.  7.x will not
run without Windows, i.e. standalone.

7.x does run RITTY under Win98 as I can verify.  I ran it that way for
several years.  One difference running that way is you do not need any
SET BLASTER statement.  Windows handles everything, but you still do
need the right soundcard.
