Uh, not quite, Phil. Right-clicking in MTTY will change between FIGS and
LTRS case, so STDYKN would become '5$6(, which is not very helpful.
Converting between FIGS and LTRS is easy; the trouble with trying to
convert automatically between reverse and normal is that it is hard to
predict where, if anywhere, the reversed signal will sync - one thing is
sure, it will not sync on the intended stop and start pulses, because they
are reversed.

Yes. This means that if you are using AFSK, if all the signals you are
receiving look OK, you are automatically transmitting with the right
polarity. Normally, with the radio in LSB you use MMTTY's normal position,
and with the radio in USB you use the REV position. In FSK, however,
getting the receive polarity correct has no bearing on the transmit
polarity. You have to set the two independently.
