Mostly to look at signal quality (cleanness/fuzziness) but not as a 
tuning aid. I'm one of those latecomers to RTTY who was never forced to 
use the scope, but was already comfortable with FFT displays.

The main tuning aid (for me). With overlapping signals, the FFT seems 
like the only way to sort out which pairs of tones "belong together".
