[RTTY] re:RTTY GROWTH

I am a newbie to ham radio and even newer to RTTY and have found RTTY
contesting the most enjoyable out of the three major modes.  At 58 I find
that SSB and CW contesting is just to stressful and have found a home here
in the RTTY ranks.  I'm not saying that 58 is over the hill and I do have
some other health issues but I think RTTY is a wonderful mode for the
retiring "BABY BOOMERS" to break into contesting and may be a reason for the
rising age bracket in this mode.  Not to long ago there was a thread going
about the average age amongst RTTY contesters and some alarm about the
higher age bracket, could this be due to more of the older hams finding the
RTTY mode?  I am sure computers and the fine software available has had a
huge impact on the RTTY community but don't count out us gray hairs, I can't
talk enough about the mode and fine people using it at local meetings and on
the air.
