Well Shelby.  You are quite wrong.

You do need to know whether or not I've been able to copy your serial
number, because if I haven't and I ask for a repeat but you've gone, then
I've little alternative but to delete you from my log as an incomplete
contact.  Why would I want you in my log with a most likely incorrect
exchange?

When our logs are checked, I'm in your's but you're not in mine.  Who gets
penalised?
