Hi all,
In the chapter "fuzzy rules", forgot to mention, the "unspecified" time
format... Many were giving seconds, and column separated time (12:23:44Z), when
not using stranger separators.
As a summary it would be nice if the contest committee could specify:
- the exact meaning of "single transmitter" (I.e. is SO2R allowed ?)
- the minimum duration of an "off" period (ie can 3mn without a QSO be counted
as an off-period ?)
- the time format to be used
Anyway, it has been a great one... No power cut this time, and even the T-storms
waited until monday morning...
Regards
Patrick

A lot of activity and nice DX's... a great weekend.
Very good condx on saturday which deteriorated on sunday with aurora (once again
!) - On saturday basis I could expect to pass 20M-pts (but missed the high
points Q's on sunday)...
More ZL's(5) than VK's(2) and only VK3 section; as usual, states is the main
source of points and multipliers. Just a pity that 15m remained close to W on
sunday, and died early on 20m (if I had known, I would have done more hours on
saturday...but until very late, forecasts were saying "no storm, no aurora"). As
expected at the peak of E's season 10m opened several times giving a good
mult-booster... 80m, very noisy, remained "desertic" until sunday evening,
nevertheless managed to work 8 W's on sunday local sunrise...
Due to the fuzzy "one tranmitter" rule point I did not use full SO2R, but hooked
one PA and one antenna to each 756 antenna port, allowing instantaneous
band-changes and I used the benefit of N1MM's SO2V features. Also used my 2
beams on 20 and 15 for instantaneous JA/W direction changes.
At the end with the cluster assistance and the instantaneous "one click-QSY" I
don't think I lost very much...
Also regret that the rules do not specify which is the minimum duration for an
off-period(could have done 1 hour more at the end, just counting 5mn coffee and
pipi breaks - but sticked to the software 30mn-count). However, the 30h rule is
a great thing which allows to maintain some social life and non-radio activity,
while providing a interesting "strategic" plus. Like for "SO2R" some rule
clarification is required.
Thanks everybody for the QSO's (many 5 banders this time!) and hope to see you
in the next one...
73's - Patrick
PS: last; don't think it is a very brillant idea for ARI, to organize a RTTY
domestic contest the same day as an international one... the 40m data-segment
must be too wide already !
