We use the open source rdesktop client on our Solaris and RedHat
systems at work so that we can access the PCs we're issued for Outlook
(Lookout?) mail ...  Pretty slick.

I believe the same protocol is supported by MS-Windows 2000, though
being Microsoft, it's probably restricted to the "Pro" version.
