Comments:
We're not at the bottom of the sunspot cycle yet but it sure seems that way. I
knew the sunspots were down but with indexes of A-30 and K5-6, I wasn't
expecting much. I decided to use the amp and go high power to brute force my
way into some good conditions (it didn't work). I started out calling CQ on 15m
and S&P on 20m. My first two contacts were a JA, and PY on 15M!!! Maybe this
won't be so bad. Well, I made one other contact (VE) on 15m later in the
contest and that was it for that band, not even one K station. Worked 5 band
oblast total, with three of them being SL. Not much excitement with endless
callings of CQ RU. Some of the highlights were working UA0FGZ on 80m; he had a
strong signal there too. Also YB0DPO answering my CQ late in the contest on
20m, finally VE6YR who went to 80m for me for a much needed mult.
73 to all and prayers to Don, AA5AU, and other hurricane victims.
