Very true and that's a shame. 160 is a great band for up to a few 
hundred miles easily and more with some power and big antennas.

Back in the olden days before WW2 most beginning hams started on 160 
meter AM with low power and had a lot of fun, so I hear. That was a 
little before my time, but I can imagine it was a homebrewer's heaven.
