[RTTY] Sydney and Auckland visits

Try to take in a performance at the famous Sydney Opera House as I believe
the season has started. If you are young enough and gutsy enough, try to
arrange for a climb up top crossing of the harbor bridge. Usually they are
backed up with applicants but maybe you'll find a spot. Take a harbor cruise
- definitely! Take a one day tour to the blue mountains. Go to the Sydney
zoo and scratch a wombat's belly. See the Concierge at the hotel, there's a
ton of tours. Do try to see as much as possible because who knows when
you'll get there again.
In Auckland try for a tour to the Mauri areas and for sure go to the glow
worm cave. Again, see you hotel Concierge for tours. Take as many as you
have time for, you won't regret it.
My wife and I have been that way twice and would go again in a heartbeat if
offered the chance.

Subject: [RTTY] Sydney and Auckland visits
My wife and I will be vacationing in Sydney, Australia, from Wed, Jan
25 to Wed, Feb. 1 and then in Auckland, New Zealand, from Mon, Feb.
13 to Fri, Feb 17. We'll be on a cruise between the two.
Do any local hams in those areas have suggestions about good places
to visit or good restaurants or ham events that the usual tourist
literature doesn't cover?
We'll be staying at the Intercontinental Hotel on Macquerie St. in
Sydney (61-2-92539000) and at the Carlton on Mayoral Drive in
Auckland (64-9-3663000). (I suspect that only part of these numbers
is relevant for locals, but you'd know better than I.)
This is really last-minute, since we leave for Los Angeles to catch
our flight about 18 hours from now (0230 UTC on Monday, Jan 23).
I'll check email just before we leave, or maybe someone could leave a
message at one of the hotels and we would return a call (and maybe
even buy a round or so).
Thanks,
Glenn W6KNB
