I was lucky to get in before the 15 meter band opened. The ZL8R station can
now be heard S9 in South Texas at 2308z but the pile up is unreal. I hope
they stick around for everyone.

Happiness is a new RTTY country.

The remarkable thing about this QSO was the band condition. The 15 meter
band has been terrible in South Texas. I noticed a ZL8R 15 meter RTTY spot
on the ab5k-2 AR-Cluster and tuned near the spot frequency. I could not hear
anything that sounded like RTTY in the TS-570S(G)'s speaker; however, the
cocoaModem 2.0 software by W7AY started printing ZL8R's RTTY signal on the
screen. I just tuned the VFO for best print and put the other VFO UP 2 and
sent my call twice when he signed with UP. I almost fell over when ZL8R
came back to me after one or two calls.

Chen, W7AY, has years of dedicated hard work in his Mac OSX cocoaModem 2.0
software for decoding weak signals. His software helped me log ZL8R that
was really down in noise under crappy band conditions.

TNX Chen for a new RTTY country #210.
