My experience was just the opposite. My IC-746PRO was damaged by a
lightning strike, so I bought a Mark V FT-1000MP. Worst radio I ever
had, main complaint was poor S/N ratio on receive. Sold it quickly and
got an IC-756PRO3. I am now a happy camper again.
