That's my point. Before 5BDXCC and the explosion of other awards, I
don't remember the ravenous behavior of the award-obsessed chasers.
Back then, you worked a country once on phone, once on CW and that was
it. You didn't have to work them on all bands, all modes including
digital and SSTV, all IOTAs, all grid squares, etc, etc, etc. 

That's why I remember it as a "Genlemanly Sport".

Sigh.
