Whoops, I just saw this posting by Barry after sending my previous  
message.

When there is no polar or trans-equatorial flutter, PSK31 beats RTTY  
by about 6 dB in terms of SNR.

I was one of the people who was not audible to Barry on PSK31 but  
printed on his screen to get a 2000 Roundup exchange.   That QSO  
would not have been remotely possible on RTTY.
