[RTTY] hyphen or no hyphen

Noel...

It's all a matter of personal opinion, but here's my 2 cents worth...

HYPHENS...I prefer spaces, as it makes it easier to click on the exchange as
it's by itself and no hyphen will end up in the exchange window...I think
the reasoning for hyphens is it makes it faster to transmit, as no shift is
required to go from 9 to space, then space to 9...A hyphen is already upper
shift...However, a space will most times get you out of 599 PEU PEU PEU
which happens when you are sending 599 037-037-037 but the first shift got
garbled and the TX is stuck lower shift...Using spaces will force another
chance to correct that problem, and you will get to at least see one
instance of 037...

START OF MACRO...I prefer CR or ENTER (one line advance) to start the macro
on a fresh line, not CRLF, which advances it 2 lines...Anything more than 1
line is not needed

END OF MACRO - A space or two is a MUST...Keeps the last character from
getting garbled in with the mess that will follow due to normal noise. Don't
put CR or CRLF at the end of the macro...That causes too much movement of
the call and exchange in the DI window...Hard to click on it when it's
moving all the time...

Those are my preferences and reasoning, I'm sure others have different
suggestions...
