Jack, I'm not the expert on this, but from what I've read, it's better not
to submit a log at all than to submit a log with only the partial number of
calls you actually worked. The reason is, if you submitted a partial log,
then they could say the other contacts don't show in your log. Otherwise,
it'll be like a lot of the part-time contesters that don't submit a log.
The rest of us don't get dinged because there's no log to compare our
contacts to, there's just no way to confirm or deny any contact we may have
had with your station. If we contesters only got points for people who
submitted their logs, then we'd get dinged for an awful lot of contacts with
other stations that just didn't submit their logs for one reason or another.
I'm sorry you lost your log. I know how I'd feel if it happened to me.
