And I respectfully disagree with you. Taking it to the limit, what if
everyone spotted all S&P QSOs?

You say that "you can filter out most of the unwanted spots" but that's like
saying "if you don't like the spam I send, filter it out."

I agree with Phil - autospotting is just a bad idea.
