[RTTY] First QSO Inverted

I've been bitten by the RTTY bug & have been receiving perfectly for about a week now so I just gave my first attempt at a QSO a try & was told that I was Inverted. I changed the menu in my TS-2000 from Normal to Inverse & made the contact without any problems. Is Inverse the correct setting or am I doing something else wrong ?  I'm using MMTTY with an MFJ-1279 to key my 2000 in FSK.
