Bob,
having no doubts about the fact that you will enjoy SO2R (so that the purchase of a second rig is not just to 'give it a try'), I would tend to favor identical rigs or very similar , like the 756 pro series for instance, where you have the same commands on both radios and a swap would not throw you out of balance. Other than that it's just a matter of taste, ten ops...ten different opinions...
Good luck and good fun with your new SO2R venture.

In doing so, I don't want to touch off another round of battling over the merits, virtues, pitfalls and, yes, morality of SO2R RTTY operations. All I want to do is see what SO2R RTTY contesting is all about and see if it is for me.> > I have an ICOM 756 Pro III I'd like to use for running and I'm stuck on which rig to purchase as the second radio to use for pouncing. Do I get another ICOM 756 Pro III or do I get a Ten Tec Omni VII or a Elecraft K3? Or to complicate matters further, should I use the ICOM 756 Pro III for pouncing and save up a bit more, and get an ICOM 7700 or Ten Tec Orion II to run with? > > I'd also appreciate your recommendations as to which contesting hardware I should use to harness the two radios together into an efficient but not too complicated SO2R team?> > Your recommendations, thoughts and comments will be greatly appreciated.> > Thanks. 73.> > Bob> KB2VMG> > > > __________________________________________________> Do You Yahoo!?> Tired of spam?
