[RTTY] Filters

Hi Nels!
Are you using AFSK or FSK keying? I assume you are probably using AFSK,
based on your question. If you are using FSK (and hence RTTY mode
selection), I think you will find the Twin Peak Filter available in RTTY
mode a much better choice than the standard passband filters available in
the other modes. In fact, I would go as far as saying that if you are using
AFSK, it would be worth your while to go to FSK keying just to be able to
use the Twin Peak Filter capability. They make a world of difference,
especially during contests (in my humble opinion). Sorry, but I can not
comment on your sharp/soft question as I have always used FSK keying and the
Twin Peak filtering capability on my 746PRO.
Thanks for all the Q's in the contests, and especially for my last state for
RTTY WAS #499 with my old WA7SLD callsign.

Hi
Anyone out there using the Icom IC-746Pro. How are your three filter
positions set for rtty?
Are they set soft or sharp?
Thanks

Two antennas met on a tower, fell in love and
got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the
reception was excellent.
