Folks and Andre:
Some op's are looking for a reasonably priced PC on which to do RTTY
contesting. May I suggest the link below. It is from a company with
which I have done business and am very happy with.
I bought a used, but thoroughly checked out, and guaranteed, IBM 8183. P4,
2.8 GHZ., 512 MB RAM but no HD or OS. I plan to add some more cheap
memory. I have plenty of old smaller capacity HD's that will work (it will
take an IDE or SATA), bet that you do too. I installed WINXP Pro, and
only ham radio programs, nothing else. That's really the secret to a fast
loading and fast running PC for Ham Radio work. It runs really fast, has a
built in sound card, although I installed a used Creative Audigy ZS 24 bit
for my SDR work. I paid 10 bucks on that famous auction site for this
premium sound card. The PC is small, only takes two add on cards, PCI of
course. It has two real serial ports, a printer port, and many USB's. It
also has two sound ports and a USB port on the front, as well as a built
in speaker if you really need it.
Here is the best part 59 Bucks, FREE SHIPPING!
I have absolutely NO relationship whatsoever to this company, just a happy
customer.
The link blow is long, so you will need to adjust for the CR/LF.
