They scan thru and auto-sense.  Not very useful if you ask me.  

Biggest things are these:

Monitor resolution, sound switching, and USB.  

I use KVM switches a lot on racks of Servers and also on one desktop here
at work.

The case is probably the other significant thing.  Old ones were made of
metal, new ones are
pretty much all plastic and this could be an RF problem.

JustCom used to be a good name.  IOGear I have one of which works fine.

If you don't need the auto-sensing you just push a button and it switches
everything to
include sound.
