Great! Just go at your own pace, have fun and fight the tendency to get
confused and frustrated at first.

You need five basic messages:
1. Your call sign: 'DE AB5GU AB5GU'
2. S&P exchange: 'W0YK 87 MARTY TX AB5GU CQ'
3. CQ exchange: 'W0YK AB5GU 87 MARTY TX'
4. QSL: 'TU'
5. CQ: 'NA DE AB5GU AB5GU CQ'
Any "touchiness" about messages in Sprint are about two things. First
keeping messages short with just the info needed. Second, using the two
different exchanges so that other stations can quickly tell when the QSO is
over and who is available to call.

Others may disagree, but I don't think this is bad form if it is what you
need to do in order to enjoy the Sprint and not get frustrated or confused.
All it means is that if I tune across your QSO and call you when its over
(and, you don't answer), then I've wasted a bit of time. But the same thing
would happen to me if several people called you and I lost out in the
pileup. Big deal, that's contesting. So, my advice is do what is
comfortable for you.
