Hi all,
What a wonderful weekend last weekend, meeting so many of the ops worked in
this DL-DX contest!
A real pleasure as always, to meet so many of you. Thanks for all the
hospitality from you all, especially Walter DL4RCK, who gave me a lift back
to my hotel after the BCC Buffet.
Anyway, on to the contest!
I had permission from the "boss" to play radio this weekend, but not until
after the shopping had been done.
Great, got back home and started, but the bands were in a poor state, with
only a few W/VE's worked, and they were not easy.
I carried on, but stopped at 140 when we had some serious static crashes.
This seemed to affect mostly 40/80m, and by that time, 20m had gone very
quiet.
I stopped for tea, and after that, about 1 hour later, I could only hear a
few RTTY stations, and all were already logged.
So, and early start for Sunday morning seemed like a good idea. I did wake
up nicely at 0500UTC, and the I must have fallen back to sleep as it was
0700UTC when I got to the shack.
But, there was a pleasant surprise in that 10m was open, and 15m was also in
fair shape, so I had some fun calling CQ.
Both these bands seemed to collapse by around 0930UTC, so I called CQ on
20m, and had some fine runs.
Overall, a very poor effort from here, but I still had a great deal of fun!
So here is what I did:
