[RTTY] What should I expect from 3db improvement in SNR?

I am actually thinking of an amp that is currently available as an import from Germany- http://www.alpinamplifier.com/

It is based on the tried and tested RF deck used by Alpha and Acom, but with beefier power supply, much more cooling, and better price. There is a very positive review from CQ DL (in German) and I understand that the RSGB's Radcom magazine will also have their review published in the upcoming April issue.
