[RTTY] RTTY WAS

Joe,

I've logged you many times on 20M, only once on 15M. I will be on in the
BARTG this coming weekend. Hopefully we can connect on 40M, but 80M will be
a real crap shoot now that the SFI and A index are climbing. Hopefully by
Fri. the &*#%^ winds here will have subsided and I can get my crank up tower
to full height. It's been blowing pretty steadily with 30 - 40 mph gusts
since before the ARRL SSB DX contest. I need a change of pace!

73,
Gary AL9A

I am not really working on a WAS. My only WAS was when I was a Novice in
1969.

But because of LOTW, I have the following confirmed for 5BWAS RTTY:

80 Meter - Need Alaska and Hawaii
40 Meter - Need Alaska
20 Meter - Need None
15 Meter - Need Georgia
10 Meter - Need Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, RI, SC,
SD,
Tenn, VT and WY. A total of 12 needed on 10 meters. So I guess doing the
next
stateside contests, I should be up on 10 meters!

The ARRL RTTY Roundup has been the big contest for getting states.

Yeah, RTTY WAS can be a challenge. I guess that's what makes it fun. I
have all 50 (via LoTW) but have never applied for any LoTW awards. So
there's probably an uncounted number of awards that could be claimed but
have not been.

So who's working on 5-band RTTY WAS?

I am!

I need 27 to go (of the 250). And 22 of them are on 10 meters. If band
conditions continue to improve, the 2012 ARRL Roundup should help fill
in a lot of those missing states. Just in time for 12-21-2012 when it
all comes to a screeching halt! :-)
