[RTTY] CQ WPX RTTY

I got "yelled" at because I was "only" 1 kHz away from another contester. I wanted to suggest that the guy try using one of the filters in his radio, but decided to just pack up and move. Because of the very limited time I had to operate, that fact that I had to operate from home and not my "contest" station at the lake, and equipment problems, this WPX incarnation pretty much sucked for me and didn't want to.take my bad attitude out on someone even if they were unreasonable.

To give you an idea how far checked out my brain was, on Sunday I somehow thought GMT was 4 hours ahead and not the 5 it had been on Saturday and the prior 3 months. I continued to call CQ for several minutes past 7PM until some nice fellow called to tell me "game over".

Dick,

Sorry you had the problem with a station too close. This happened to me 3
times in the WPX when I had been holding a frequency for a long time. Each
time I went exactly on their frequency and asked them to 'please QSY a
little up/down as you are too close to my freq .. tu de john gw4ska'.
Polite, had to be repeated once or twice but they all moved without any
comment. Twice it happened just after I got spotted, maybe just coincidence.

Good to know that RTTY ops are the best!

73, John GW4SKA
