You might want to hear the interview with the young female copilot of
that helicopter (including an interview with the rescue swimmer). I
heard it on "The Story With Dick Gordon" radio program (NPR) last
week (Friday, IIRC). Their promo text:
"Flying Into 30-foot Waves: A Coast Guard Pilot and Swimmer
Dick speaks with U.S. Coast Guard helicopter pilot Jane Pena, who
flew into Hurricane Sandy to rescue the crew of the HMS Bounty that
went down in high seas. She passes the phone to Coast Guard swimmer
Randy Haba, who was lowered into the storm with flippers and a
snorkel mask. He swam to a life raft and one-by-one rescued five crew
members and hoisted them back up into the helicopter."
