As long as software is in existence that keys the recognition off of DE 
I will continue to use it to some extent.  WF1B and Writelog both can 
use the DE.  True writelog has gone beyond this to the databases, but 
for many casual operators not in the database and for the ever 
increasing folks who travel.  6Y5/AA5AU would highlight on AA5AU while 
if you have DE turned on in RTTYRite DE 6Y5/AA5AU would highlight the 
entire thing.
In fact going back to the DE is in some respects a better idea. Look in 
the SCP databases and see now that our Radiosporting has grown the calls 
that have various highlights.  When we get our error rate much lower we 
can then work on the shortest possible.
And WS7V, WS7L stay out of my pileups !!!
But I can get Bob easy enough on 0RC.
