[RTTY] Rude contesters

So does LISTENING first. But that requires a tiny amount of courtesy and a few extra seconds out of your life. The way RTTY contesters fret about shaving a few milliseconds off their macros, you'd think they could afford a second here or there to see what's happening before blasting away.

Bigger/taller antenna's and louder amplifier's help solve this problem.

That’s a bit over the top don’t you think Jim? Here's my take.
1. It’s a contest. It's all about ME and MY score.
2. Perhaps I don't hear the DX or can't copy them because of flutter or just
plain bad copy.
3. I just tuned across your signal and misunderstood where you were in the
exchange process.
4. Perhaps you said QRZ and the DX needed a repeat.
And the list goes on and on as to why someone transmitted on top of your
precious QSO.
Deal with it.
This is a hobby.

Three times this weekend, I had guys calling on top of the DX when I
was trying to hear if he confirmed my report.
PLEASE PLEASE let the QSO in progress F I N I S H before dumping your call in.
I used to think RTTY operators were polite. Now they're just like the
rest of the a-holes out there.
