Chen,

I'm confused - perhaps because I can't easily visualize the set-ups:

Here are the confusing (in my mind) possibilities

SENDING STATION RECEIVING STATION

Transmitter USOS Receiver USOS Transmitter USOS
Receiver USOS

       OFF OFF OFF OFF
       OFF OFF OFF ON
       OFF OFF ON OFF
       OFF OFF ON ON

       OFF ON OFF OFF
       OFF ON OFF ON
       OFF ON ON OFF
       OFF ON ON ON

       ON OFF OFF OFF
       ON OFF OFF ON
       ON OFF ON OFF
       ON OFF ON ON

       ON ON OFF OFF
       ON ON OFF ON
       ON ON ON OFF
       ON ON ON ON

Thus, I have 16 'possibilities'

Questions:
   1. Are any of these possibilities actually moot?
   2. Isn't USOS a 'RECEIVING' parameter? What does USOS on transmit do?
   3. Is there any type of 'handshaking' to show the other stations
use of USOS?
   4. What do you recommend as the best way to set up USOS for my station

Thanks,

de Phil - N8PS
