In this situation, after he dumps, I just send my usual report and 
wait for him to QSL it, then I QSL his and start a CQ immediately. It 
is smooth and I never lose the freq and still get his Q in the log.

My macros are set up so that I use the same for both S&P and run. 
Maybe that helps me.
