I suffered until near the bitter end with 62 Q?s on 15 & 20m. I look forward
to sprints as I rarely can handle 24/48 hr contests but this time I was so
disappointed!

There is no record of how quickly it moved from commercial to amateur
service but we do know that it was causing enough interference to other
users that by 2008 there had been at least one petition asking that the
Commission impose the bandwidth limit set by the twin 300 baud and 1000 Hz
shift limits on FSK to all HF data emissions.

RM11392 asks the FCC to re-establish the narrowband nature of the RTTY/Data
subbands in the 80 through 10-meter bands. Emissions have crept into the
narrowband RTTY/Data subbands in the 80 through 10-meter bands that are not
appropriate for the RTTY/Data subbands. Stations under automatic control
have taken advantage of loopholes created by terminology in the commission's
rules that is not applicable to new operating modes.

2008 was when the FCC denied the N5RFX petition.  So from introduction to
problem was five years for PACTOR III.

Looking at scs-ptc.com's pages archived at archive.org, it appears that it
was released somewhere between Feb-Aug 2002.

If you have never used archive.org, its tremendous, it keeps snapshots of

Ladder format practice sessions.
Try it, you'll like it!

The 30 minute RTTY sprint practice will be held on Thursday night, half an
hour before the CW NSLadder:
  0200 to 0230Z May 2,  Thursday night in NA, 7:00-7:30 PM PDT,
10-1030 PM EDT, etc.
