Unfortunately, I will not be able to play this year in the WPX. We have 3/8"
ice on everything and all the antennas have a pronounced droop. First year
in awhile that I've missed this one - one of my favorites. So to everybody
that's playing this weekend, have fun !!

Thursday afternoon and evening, NA time:

2200-2230Z, Thursday, 6 February (convenient for Europe) 0300-0330Z, Friday,
7 February

These practices are a good way to check out your station to be sure all the
hardware, software and operating techniques are working well before the
starting bell at 0000Z on Saturday, 8 February.

Use the bands that are open for you and use the actual messages you will use
in the contest. That is, send serial numbers and be prepared for innocent
bystanders to inform you that the contest hasn't yet begun.

Conditions for the weekend are forecast to be excellent, so get on and have
some fun!

Special notes for MixW users: http://www.cqwpxrtty.com/mixw.htm

Also note that this is the first of the three CQ WPX contests for 2014. The
single op with the highest cumulative score from all three contests will win
the coveted Ironman award.
