[RTTY] Ionospheric Physics

There's still very few that just send "599 LA LA " or whatever their state or s/n is. That's all that is needed "most of the time".
Since I "think" most people already know I live in Louisiana, I can get away with sending my "LA" only twice in my S&P message.
However, it may be overall more beneficial to send the STATE/PROVINCE or S/N three likes like "[CR/LF]599 TX TX TX " (notice the
space after the last TX in the macro".
In cases where you have ALREADY worked a station previously in the contest, you can get away with sending the state/province or s/n
information just once like "[CR/LF]599 TX ". The problem is that you would have to look at each contact to see if you worked the
station previously in the contest, then use a different macro to send the S&P exchange. I realize it's not that hard to do this, but
when running SO2R or SO3R, it would become very tiresome to look at each call as you work them to see if you worked them before,
then use separate macros based on the outcome. That's what makes "[CR/LF]599 TX TX " the best option "most of the time". But when
conditions are tough, you need to send it twice!

I was actually pleased at how little of that there seemed to be this year. Made the few that use ornate macros stick out all the
more.
Saw several ops repeat the so-called RST, too. No idea what that's about. Yes, it has to be there per the (non-BARTG) rules, but
it hardly needs repeating. :-D _______________________________________________
