I love you Ken but have to disagree on this one. Although RTTY is probably mostly used in contests, it is also a valuable DX mode.
At times I have worked DX on RTTY that I hadn't worked on other modes. I have now, but at the time, some entities could only be
worked on RTTY. Look at P5/4L4FN. If you didn't work him on SSB or RTTY, you didn't work him.
Try working a DXpedition on PSK, JT65 or JT9. No thanks. Give me RTTY for digital DX any day.

RTTY is basically a contest-only mode. Check the RTTY subbands during the week sometime. They are vast wastelands, even 20m.
Then check the PSK and JT65 frequencies - there is always something going on . That's why I
took up JT65, just to have something digital to do between contests. And I
don't care to ragchew or brag about my station and memberships.
I started on RTTY in 2008 and there was way more everyday activity then
than now. Aside from contests, not much else happens except for the
occasional DXpedition or special event station.
If possession is nine tenths of the law, we RTTY folks don't have much of a claim on these frequencies. No wonder PACTOR4 wants
in.
Please don't lynch me. I'm a harmless OF with a bad back.

Hi Stan
Well - you have to take into account, this is a RTTY reflector, not a 'digital' reflector/ I think most guys here are RTTY
contesters. 73 and HNY Tom W7WHY
