I had been a fan of the Logitech Track-man Marble trackball for years.
When my old wired (USB) version failed (switches), I was forced into
the wireless version.  The wireless version was so bad with lags,
missed clicks/extra double clicks/etc. that I literally threw it
against the wall and grabbed a traditional *wired* optical mouse out
of my travel bag.  The wireless stuff is absolute crap IMO.

At this point I'm buying the lowest cost commodity mice that fit my
hand comfortably and will never go back to a Logitech product.

Bill, if you were using a wireless optical mouse, I suspect the issue
is more about the wireless feature than the difference between optical
and roller.
