Chen W7AY is correct. I use Pathsim to generate standard test files for the
various CCIR now ITU standard propagation tests.

This then gives me a bench mark for the current version of 2Tone against
which I can objectively test a variation on that one for different signal to
noise ratios and different propagation conditions.

In just added noise test 2Tone in (Flutter/Flat decode) is so close to the
theoretical character error rate line the difference is not worth worrying
about, circa 0.1dB, which is within the error bounds of PathSim.

By the way Alex's, VE3NEA, 2Tone graphic is out of date as he used a version
of 2Tone that is now 2 years old. Since then it has improved. I use Alex's
RTTYcompare - thanks Alex saved me re-inventing the wheel.

I believe David G3YYD fine tunes his 2Tone decoders by using PathSim to
compare different versions.

By adding flutter and selective fading, you can measure how much selective
fading and flutter further degrades the copy.

So, if someone wants to completely characterize the performance of the
built-in RTTY decoders in superhets, there is a way :-).
