Hey guys, don't forget to listen for us poor fellas way down at the Southern
end of Africa!! :-)
I (ZS2EZ) will be operating Single Op All Band LOW power .... Kenwood
TS-590S into a TH-7DX at 50ft for 20-15-10, trapped wire dipole for 40-80.
Don't expect to hear anything on 80 (the antenna is not exactly great, and
that band is usually a blank here) but will be hoping for SOME propagation
over the weekend!!
My wife has given me the go-ahead to spend the weekend in the shack, so
hopefully my peanut-whistle signal will make it into a decent number of
logs!!
Hope to work a whole lot of you in the contest!!

You will be surprised at the EU activity. It won't be like it was a couple
of years back but there will still be plenty of DX to work. The further
west you are, the tougher it gets though of course. But the same story
applies to JAs. Try 15m in the later afternoon pointing west.

In addition to forecasts, I use two actual live indicators of
propagation: The NCDXF beacons and the presence or absence of JT9 and
JT65 signals. Many times I have seen what appears to be a dead band except
for the JT signals which indicate the band is actually open.
Right now, 1045 PST, ten has nothing and 15 has a few.
For what it's worth.
