[RTTY] NS RTTY Sprint

20 was very strange last night. N3QE was loud out here but WD0T was a whisper. I think I remember hearing both of you but I got beat out by someone else. 40 seemed ok, but as usual we were all there so lots of competition for signals.

I tried pinging the RBN on 15 before the start but was only heard in zone 3. I didn’t see any activity in the WSJT segment just below .080, so the band was pretty dead. 30 minutes later I did manage to eek out a few cw Qs, but except for KZ5D everyone else was whispery.

As WD0T noted in our conversation afterwards: We need a new Sun!

Started out nicely on 20. Thought I would do well.
But 40 was tough for me also.
Heard K6MR and ZFO and others but they could not hear me and lots of QRN and QRM with other stations calling on top of each other.
I did not try 80. I have put up a shortened dipole for 80 to try it out.
(I am on a corner lot with relatively small backyard not conducive for long antennas).
Will look for you next time.
