I do not have a SRI NO QTC message. But, it seems when someone asks me to receive QTCs they are often ESP copy and because of that I have a NOT NOW message. It is just a matter of how cluttered the bands are and how strong the other station is. SO if you send CAN YOU RCV QTC and you get my NOT NOW you'll know your in the crud and not very strong. 73 Larry L W0ETC in IA -- "Phil Cooper" wrote: Hi again all, Nobody said you "had" to operate the contest, but there are plenty that do, and then do not handle QTC's. With Writelog (and possibly N1MM, but I haven't tried it!) it is a piece of cake, and it isn't that hard with WF1B. If you use MMTTY, then it could be a challenge, but anything you can do to maximise your score is worth trying! I have to admit to sending SRI NO QTC the first time I tried this contest some years ago, but once you see how to do it, then it is quite simple. OK, there isn't much point in trying it with weak signals, but there are plenty of loud ones out there! If you can't bring yourself to send them, then ask for them to be sent to you! In effect, each batch of 10 QTC's are worth 10 QSO's. If you get them all first time, then great, you will have got 10 points far more easily than trying to work 10 other stations in that time. I can't quite agree with Bill W6WRT, who said it was boring! All RTTY contests are fun, but some have easier exchanges than others! With modern logging software, CQWW is very predicatable, as the Zone is usually filled in for you, although you do have to check and verify some of the W call areas! Strategy IS important, as there is little point in me trying to send them to a W6 on 80m after dawn here, as even a contact would be suspect, but if (for example) Tom WX4TM hears me loud and clear, even if he is weak with me, I could easily send him 10 QTC, and then move on. If you read the text, and decide not to handle QTC's, then so be it, but you are missing out on a bigger score! 73 all Phil GU0SUP -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
