Comments:

Great conditions, no power line noise, no solar flares, and great
conditions
made this a fun contest.  It was a delight to have such solid
propagation to
Europe from the west coast for much of the daytime on both Saturday and
Sunday.


The only sour note in these DX contests continues to be the occasional
frequency stealing "big gun" tyrant.  It continues to amaze me that
operators
who otherwise have great abilities will land on a new frequency,
initiate CQ,
and ignore responses from those who come back with "QRL, PSE QSY."  Why
do
these types continue, in spite of obviously landing on a busy
frequency?  A
response from the occupant should suffice for them to move on.  It
doesn't.
Tactics like this are NOT inherently part of the sport.  They keep
trying to
bully their way into the frequency.  Are they the same ones who cheat by

running illegal QRO in contests?  Are these people the same types who
would
throw their golf balls from the rough when nobody is watching?
Apparently
there are still contesters who, in spite of their abilities with
operating,
have yet to learn the meaning of "sportsmanship."  Without any attempt
at peer
pressure to influence these poor tactics, contesting can hardly be
considered a
"sport."

Fortunately, 95% of contesters are beyond such poor tactics.  Can we
possibly
get the other 5% to grow up?
