And while you are volunteering, my lawn needs some work; trees trimmed;
flowers planted; some help with the mortgage, etc. So nice of Art et al to
offer. I'll faithfully man the BBQ, and provide sunscreen for all you
workers.

The ONLY reason for building 'sophisticated' antennas is to allow us to
CONTROL THE RADIATION PATTERN.
But MFJ has solved this problem by going back to their basic drawing board.
MFJ antenna law #1 - ANY piece of conducting material will work as an
antenna on any frequency.
Therefore the SCCC is installing on the N6TJ roof, the new MFJ 160 thru
10Ghz Vertical. This new
antenna is 4 ft hgh and has 26 loading coils plus 6 traps, 2 tophats and
a new feature, a bottom hat.
The ARRL Lab gave up trying to test it after spending 6 weeks trying to
adjust it for an SWR
under 10:1 ... But with the SCCC talent, should be no problem. Jim will
be working DX like
Fullerton and Anaheim in no time! Bring your tools, sawsalls, gasaxes
and lets get Jim's new 'VERTICAL'
up and working......
