Read my message on yesterday's RTTY reflector......

There is no quick fix for rtty contesting enthusiasm in VK.  It 
started in the US with a widespread interest in HF digital and there 
is a host of reasons why that has never happened here. Alternately, 
perhaps like you and I, as a conversion from ssb/cw contesting with 
advent of  high performance software and advancing age . The good 
works of the VKCC to promote contesting here is probably the best 
hope, although it is today largely focused on cw/ssb. Interestingly, 
some of the most active VKCCers are actually migrants from EU and 
W-land. Competitive contesting has never been a significant part of 
the Ham culture here. In fact HF operating was far less popular than 
HF rig building!  That may all change with the new generation of 
code-less Federation licensees.

I just might make it to the next SCCC social event!
