Comments:

Didn't really expect to run this one seriously - started late from my QTH and
the 6M vertical. Just under 1 hour (10 Qs) in N6KI invited me to run at his QTH, so I
packed up the laptop and headed over. Unfortunately I had nothing prepared so
was hand logging and the packet was unconnected to the radio (no rig control),
and I realize how useful those features are when doing S&P!

Much like the CW guys - I'm not used to running a Mic, though I did remember my
training from the CQP.

I tried a few runs but for whatever reason I didn't get much out of them, at
least with mults. Near the end of the day I pointed at JA and NOTHING, but did
start a small run off of the back of the beam! Perhaps I was unlucky and chose
spots where east coasters were camped (that I couldn't here). The rest of the
time was S&P, and I have to say I'm really not used to having a beam! It's
great when you are pointed where the stations are. I also should have run my
propagation prediction to choose when to change directions.

A number of stations I expected to find I missed - I only barely managed a VK
and ZL, plus my first Tazmania QSO. The stations I expected to find were on, i
just missed them - I was running the packet, but there was so much extra time
involved in having to manually tune places that I missed a lot.

All in all was a good experience, and I have some ideas of what to do next
time. I should have done MUCH better!
